PS5 PC Desk is published by the owner of ps5emulatorpc.com. This policy explains the data used by the website and its local SHA-256 tool. Privacy questions can be sent to hello@ps5emulatorpc.com.
The local download checker
The checksum checker reads a file you explicitly select and computes SHA-256 inside your browser. It accepts files up to 512 MiB (536,870,912 bytes), reads the whole file into memory, and compares its hash with the expected value you paste.
File contents, filenames, expected hashes, calculated hashes, and results are not uploaded by the tool or sent as analytics events. The site does not save them in browser storage. Selecting a file does not give the site general access to other files on your device.
If you choose to copy a calculated checksum, the tool writes that value to your system clipboard. Other applications may access clipboard content according to your operating system’s permissions. The tool does not read your clipboard automatically.
Browser choices and local storage
Your analytics choice is saved locally so the site can honor it on later visits. Where browser storage is available, the choice is shared across tabs of this site. The site does not store tool inputs or a history of checksum results.
You can reopen the choice controls, decline analytics, or withdraw permission. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes the saved choice and causes it to be asked again. If storage is unavailable, a choice may not persist.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is optional. Its scripts load only after you select Allow analytics, or return with a saved Allow choice. Declining leaves the Google tag unloaded. Analytics is not required to read pages or use the local tool.
After permission, the site sends a page-view event with the page title and canonical page address, excluding query parameters and URL fragments. It sends a blank page referrer. Google can also process browser and device information, analytics cookie identifiers, session information, and approximate location derived from the connection. Enhanced Measurement, Google signals, and advertising personalization are disabled for this site. We do not send checksum inputs, files, filenames, free-text messages, or calculated results as events. See Google’s Privacy Policy for its processing practices.
You can withdraw permission through Analytics settings or Manage analytics choices. The site disables further analytics commands, removes the tag, clears accessible analytics cookies, and reloads pages where the tag was loaded or loading. That reload discards unsaved tool selections and results. Where browser storage is available, an Allow or decline choice also applies across tabs of this site; loaded tabs reload when permission is withdrawn. Withdrawal cannot recall requests already sent while permission was allowed.
The choice mechanism describes this site’s analytics behavior; it is not a universal consent platform for unrelated sites or a guarantee of compliance with every jurisdiction. Provider processing is described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
Hosting and routine web requests
Loading pages, scripts, and images sends ordinary web requests to the hosting and content delivery services, including an IP address, requested resource, and browser request headers. The site uses Cloudflare for hosting and content delivery; its handling of service and security data is described in Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. These requests are needed to deliver the site and do not depend on the optional analytics choice. Local checksum calculations do not create a file-upload request.
Contact messages
If you email us, your email service and the receiving service process your address and message. Information you choose to send may be used to investigate the request, reply, or assess a correction. Do not include sensitive account information or copyrighted software. No fixed response or retention period is promised here; you may contact us to request deletion or ask about a specific message.
External links and advertisements
Opening GitHub or another external source takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. This site currently has no advertisements, ad scripts, or affiliate download links. This policy will be updated if those practices change.
Policy changes
The effective date above identifies this version. Material changes to tool data handling or optional services will be reflected here. Read the Terms for limits on the research and checksum result.
